The Continuing Failure of Mann Bracken

The failure continues. Many of Mann Bracken's web pages now go to "holding pages" - but the domains are not yet available (who would want them?).

James Branton also appears to be practicing law from home.

Mann Bracken is causing holiday pandemonium. Lawsuits are being dismissed and, when a Mann Bracken phone is still working, the message is to call the creditor! Many creditors appear to have been unaware of Mann Bracken's demise, and do not know what to do.

Note that Mann Bracken has not entered bankruptcy and is still in good standing. That means they can still be sued…

Hi There,

What does this mean for those people who made a settlement with them? Do they still owe the payments?

Blogger, former Mann Bracken employee here. I'm assuming this blog will slowly disappear but before then, I'd love to answer your questions.

I have an account with Mann Bracken and I have set up on a payment plan, but I see it has not come out of my account. These people threaten you soooo much with garnishment and lawsuits. You do not know what to believe. I do not want them coming back to life and reckoning havoc on my finances. I have trying to call the 800 numbers no answer. What to do?

I also have a settlement plan set up with Mann Bracken LLC, and am nearing the end of it. They have not taken this month's payment, and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to finish up with them. When I call the 800 number listed on correspondences, I'm told that this number is temporarily out of service. Any advice?

MB had a pending suit against me, with a trial date for next week. I was dismissed yesterday. Sweet.

I too wonder; does this mean thos people who have been making settlement payments to them still have to make the payments? I tried calling today (the MD branch) and got a recording saying the phone number was temporarily disconnected....

Hey everyone, I tried emailing some of you back and received no response... I am open to disclosing whatever you're interested in knowing, I just don't want to write an essay in the comments section. I'm particularly interested in talking to the owner of the blog. Feel free to email me at aaronr702@gmail.com

Also to those of you who had set up settlements/payment plans, I recommend you go back to your creditor or issuer and work something out with them. Chances are, that your debt has already been charged off on their books and they're therefore likely to work with you. In some cases, your debt may have been sold to a debt buyer, in which case you'll have to talk to them.

What would this mean if they have already shafted you? I have two judgements where they went through NAF and easily won.
I could never settle because they wanted all the money, now $40K. They continued up until recently to call and threaten all kinds of things.

I was laid off and cant find work. I would like to rebuild and start my own business, but can't with this.

Help!

hi, i have made a settlement with mann bracken. they have taken two payments out of my acct with the third and final this month. i have called several of their numbers but they are disc. and i have tried to get on their website which i assume no longer exist. my questions are, did the creditor get their money or did they just pocket it. should i change check accts and will i continue to get calls from them. they got 1100.00 from me and i want to make sure it went to creditors that i owed. have so many questions, this is really scarey. not sure what to do. already contacted my bank, not sure what to do next. please let me know if you can...thanks

I had settled a Target account with Mann Bracken in May, 2009. I just got notice from another agency that Target wants more money unless I have proof that the account was settled. I'm trying to find that now.

My account with Mann Bracken was turned over to Schlee & Stillman Law Office. Does anyone have experience with them?

I've read all previous comments here... Anyone called 'Clark Howards' people on this matter to get their input? I haven't rcvd my wifes monthly bill & like everyone else can't seem to reach anyone. I dony want to assume we're off the hook. Nobody has contacted my household concerning anything to do with Mann Bracken... Very curious on the matter here..

I couldn't be happier! May all debt lawyers burn in hell and go on a BBQ-rotisserie and fed to hell demons. They are nothing but parasites preying on the weak and laid off workers. My debts are being handled by freedomdebtrelief.com. Now that MB went OOB, they can settle my accounts at a much lower % than if they were in legal. Your accounts will go to the original creditor, then if not settled to a 3rd party collection agency.

Does anyone have any debt with MBNA\BofA that was being handled with MB? I had agreed to a settlement but the amount was never taken out, thankfully. I am not sure if MB pruchased the debt from BofA or they are just the the third party collection agency. Please email me if you have any ideas or thoughts ben.vs.BofA@gmail.com.

Should I keep sending my Payments to Mann Bracken ? Or Should I wait until someone else contacts me ? I was just getting ready to send them one , But now I just read this . Spazz ,

I'm in the same situation as most others here. In early 2009, I settled a BofA debt with MB for $9,000 to be paid by e-check in 12 payments on the 19th of each month. Eleven payments have already been made and acknowledged with letters from MB. The 12th and final payment was to be taken on 1/19/2010, and has not been taken. I have no idea of my standing in this matter at this point, nor of what I should do. If anyone has helpful info, please email me: jcs24ij@gmail.com

Thanks in advance,
Joe

I just called BofA to see who is handling my debt and it is Fred Hanna and Assoc. I am going to try and continue my settlement with them. Any thoughts?

That's frustrating!

I hope they have fixed the problem. My Dad doesn't trust such without his own web site and contacts to locate the firm. He is very cautious when it comes to money. He first researches if the firm does exist and he digs deeper to know what reputation the firm has. In doing so, he found the best debt settlement company. He instantly availed of the debt settlement service, feeling at ease with the expertise of the firm and he is very satisfied with the result.
